Susan Carol Palmer, the daughter of Bill and Billie (Turner) Thomson was born on February 9, 1949 at Orchard, NE. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith in June of 1949. Susie attended school at Chambers Public School and graduated with honors from Chambers High School in 1967.
On March 24, 1968 Susie was united in marriage to Cliff Palmer at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The couple lived in Albion where Susie worked at Sullivan Motors, and Russ’s IGA. The last 25 years Susie has worked at Albion News, and just recently as the office manager. Susie loved her family, grandchildren, and her dogs. She was an avid Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR, and Packers fan. Susie also enjoyed bowling, camping, painting and wallpapering.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion.
On Tuesday morning, January 15, 2008 Susie passed away following a short battle with cancer at 58 years of age.
She is survived by her husband Cliff of Albion; children: Heidi Shanno and husband Dave of Albion; Clint Palmer of Albion; 2 grandchildren: Darien and Cody Shanno; 2 sisters: Judy Adams and husband Dale of York, NE; Jeanie Husar and husband Ted of Fremont, NE; sister-in-law Sandy Cook and husband Frank of Bakers City, OR; brother-in-law Jim Palmer and wife Maxine of Columbus; her beloved dogs Jr. and Barney, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ken Thomson, mother and father-in-law Guy and Dorothy Palmer, brother-in-law: Roger Pickinpaugh; and niece Rachelle Pickinpaugh.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion with Rev. Larry Sydow officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion.
