September 2010 was a record month for Albion city sales tax receipts, according to information received last week from the Nebraska Department of Revenue.
City sales and use tax receipts for the month totaled $62,179, the largest single month total since the city started collecting a 1.5 percent sales tax in October 2006. The previous high total was $60,003 in July 2008.
The September total represents a 45 percent increase from the previous month, August 2010, when the city received $42,871 in sales tax revenue. It is also 21 percent higher than the September 2009 total of $51,258.
