County gets FEMA approval for flood repairs

Boone County has received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for funding to make repairs totaling nearly $450,000 from last summer’s flood damage.

Boone County Highway Superintendent Darrel Thorin told county commissioners Monday that FEMA funding had been approved for four flood damage projects.

The largest project is replacement of the Pilot Knob Road bridge, southwest of Primrose crossing the Cedar River, at a total estimated cost of $364,235.
