Tax receipts continue double digit gains

Albion city sales tax receipts for October 2010 continued to show strength in the local economy.

The October receipts totaled $46,699, an increase of 31 percent or more than $11,000 over the October 2009 receipts of $35,636.

October marked the 12th consecutive month of double digit gains in sales tax receipts for the City of Albion.

The October total was down about $15,480 or 25 percent from the record September 2010 receipts of $62,179.

For the first four months of the 2010-11 fiscal year, which started July 1, 2010, the city’s sales tax receipts totaled $199,392. This reflects an increase of 24.36 percent or $39,311 from the same four months of last year, when sales tax receipts totaled $160,061.
