Boone Central School Board reviewed a recommendation to build a separate new high school building during its regular meeting Wednesday night, June 15.
The recommendation came from the school district’s facilities committee, which included 22 district patrons, as well as two board members, two school staff members and two school administrators. The committee held nine work sessions and two community input meetings during the past nine months.
After assessing needs of both the Albion and Petersburg facilities and various options for use of the various facilities, the committee recommended a new high school be built on a separate site, and that the Albion facility be renovated to house both the middle school and elementary school. Total cost of this plan is estimated at $15 million.
