Boone County Planning Commission Monday night voted to recommend approval of a conditional use permit that will allow construction of a hog confinement unit about 2 1/2 miles northwest of Albion.
The proposed finishing unit for 2,599 head of pigs would be built by Niewohner Farms Partnership on the west side of 240th Avenue.
The planning board also recommended approval of a conditional use application by George Beierman to divide 4.1 acres from farm ground for construction of a new storage building.
Several conditions were placed on the recommendation for approval.
