Commissioners consider change of district boundaries

Boone County population changes from the 2010 census will result in a change of boundaries for the County Commissioner Districts.

The county’s current population is 5,505, down from 6,259 in the year 2000. Much of the population decline occurred in the county’s rural areas, which means the district lines will need to be redrawn.

The County Clerk’s office prepared two options aimed at equalizing population.
