As tests go, Boone Central’s season-opening golf dual vs. Fullerton Thursday, August 25, was not an especially stern one.
However, it was still a good day for the Lady Cardinal linksters. The two-time defending Class C state champions were able to get their first competitive swings of the season in and work the kinks out while rolling to a 50-stroke advantage over the Warriors.
On a picture-perfect day at the Albion Country Club, Boone Central easily won the varsity competition Thursday, 179-229. The Cardinals’ two JV golfers also defeated their Fullerton counterparts by a score of 139-155.
