The Boone Central Cardinals put their best foot forward and produced their top efforts of the season Thursday in the Scotus Invitational cross country meet north of Columbus.
Boone Central placed third in the boys team standings and fourth among girls’ teams.
Calvin Koziol (5th) and Brody Kelley (8th) were both top 10 runners for the Cards, while Jaime Kennedy (8th) and Cassidy Pribnow (11th) also had strong outings.
In fact, every Cardinal runner posted a personal-best time in the meet!
“We had an exceptional day! With a perfect day for running, every one of our runners posted their fastest times ever!” exclaimed Cardinal Coach Tom Dickey. “Not only did they run fast, but they ran hard and competitively. A performance like this has to give them the confidence to go out and do even more.
“Jaime and Cassidy did a great job leading the girls team. Probably the best race of the day was from Anna Goodwater, who reeled in a big pack of runners in the final stages to help us get to 4th.
“Calvin did another outstanding job maintaining pace and competing. Brody finally found his stride and did an incredible job finishing off a very deliberate start.”
