Coach Tom Dickey continues to be impressed and pleased with his Cardinal cross country runners.
Boone Central scored solid fourth-place finishes in both the girls and boys divisions last week in the York Invitational. The Cardinal girls were especiaaly competitive, finishing just two points out of third and within 10 points of second place.
“I was really encouraged with some of our improvement,” Dickey commented. “Our lead runners – Jaime, Cassidy and Calvin – all ran very solid races against very tough Class B competition.”
The Boone Central girls finished the meet with 57 points, trailing York (27), Hastings (49) and Omaha Skutt (55). Leading the Lady Cards was senior Jaime Kennedy, who placed fifth with a personal-best time of 15:51, which was also #2 all time by a Boone Central runner on the York course.
Kennedy was ably supported by junior Cassidy Pribnow’s seventh-place effort of 16:20 and the 16th-place run by Goodwater (17:23). Cassie Lindgren rounded out Cardinal scoring by finishing 30th in 18:27.
On the boys side, junior Calvin Koziol continued his steadily-superb campaign with a fifth-place finish (17:31). Salber recorded a personal-best time of 18:50 to place 24th. The Cardinal boys scored 77 points, fourth behind Skutt (29), York (30) and Hastings (35).
