Card Runners Battle In Tough Bloomfield Invite

The Boone Central cross country teams continued to prepare for upcoming district competition at the challenging Bloomfield Invitational Friday, Oct. 7.
Facing fairly loaded fields, the Cardinals gave some stellar efforts that have Coach Tom Dickey feeling optimistic about Thursday’s C-3 District meet at Norfolk.
The BC boys placed fourth in team standings at Bloomfield, with the Cardinal girls taking fifth. Boone Central also got two individual top five performances – junior Calvin Koziol placing third and senior Jaime Kennedy fifth.
“The Bloomfield meet was hugely competitive!” Dickey exclaimed. “Our kids really battled hard and improved well.
“We are, as far as I’m concerned, in a very good spot heading into the district meet,” he added. “We know the teams we need to beat are nearly in our grasp, so with normal improvement, we should be successful.
