Zoning changes get planning board nod

Two zoning changes were recommended for approval by the Albion Planning Commission after public hearings Monday night, Nov. 7, at City Hall.

A zoning change for property just west of the Albion city limits, owned by Janet Lawson, was recommended for approval.

Mrs. Lawson seeks a change from C-3 highway commercial to R-2 medium density residential, which would allow development of a residential subdivision.

The 4.63 acre parcel is west of Fairgrounds Road and south of Highway 91. It is accessible from Fairgrounds Road.

A zoning change requested by Curt Berglund, from C-2 downtown commercial to I-1 light industrial, was also recommended for approval. Berglund plans to convert this former downtown motel property at 127 North Fourth Street into a storage unit business.
