It was another very successful season for the Boone Central cross country program, led by senior Jaime Kennedy’s 7th place Class C finish at the 2011 state championships in Kearney. Kennedy recently received All-State recognition in Class C from the Nebraska Coaches Association for her performance this past season.
Senior Andrea Weeder of Lindsay Holy Family, 2011 state runner-up after winning gold medals the previous three seasons, was named Super State by the NCA and senior teammate Breanna Korus was an All-State recipient in Class D. The pair led the Lady Bulldogs to a runner-up finish in Class D behind six-time champion Crofton.
This is the 14th season the Nebraska Coaches Association has recognized Super State and All-State athletes in cross country. The selection process included consideration of performances from the state meet and correspondence with high school coaches across the state.
