BC Golfers Lacking Experience

golf.jpgThe Boone Central boys golf team has plenty of experience at the coaching position, but a lack of the same on its roster heading into the 2012 spring season.
Dennis Walters, who has spent 27 years at Albion/Boone Central and is in his third season back as golf coach after a short retirement period, will have just four returning letterwinners to work with this year.
However, the veteran coach did welcome a good number of athletes to pre-season practice this spring and hopes his team will be able to develop during the season.
“We will be inexperienced, but we should be okay,” Walters commented. “We have the four letterwinners to build around. Right now, we’re really uncertain who else may step up.”
The Cardinals will be led by senior Kade Leetch, who hopes to build off his 2011 campaign. Leetch placed 8th in the Albion Invitational a year ago and 11th in the Mid-State Conference championships. He had the top Boone Central performance of the year in the competitive Mac Invite at Wayne, firing an 18-hole score of 78 to place third, and was also runner-up in the Fullerton Invite.
Senior Sean Soll, junior Hunter Henry and sophomore Jackson Meyer are the other letterwinners Walters is banking on to begin the season.
