About 30 people took part in an Area Health Needs Assessment at the Kvam Room, Boone County Health Center, on Thursday, June 7. The group identified five primary health needs — cancer prevention, mental health treatment, substance abuse prevention, reducing childhood obesity, and prevention of bullying.
After identifying the five primary needs, the group split into committees. Chairpersons were appointed, and action plans were started. The committees will be meeting over the coming months to more fully develop and begin implementing their action plans. East Central District Health Department and Boone County Health Center cooperated in this planning process.
