Petersburg Senior Center closes, meals available at Rae Valley Market

Closing of the Petersburg Senior Center happened very fast. Due to the resignation of the cook, the center was unable to continue providing meals to the senior citizens in Petersburg. On Friday, after the noon meal was served, participants were told that the center was to close.
Larry Temme, owner of Rae Valley Market, stated, “We had discussed the issue of serving dinners at Rae Valley Market with the state, and plans were worked out last Friday.” The market served their first meal on Monday, Oct. 1, with 15 seniors participating.
Meals are served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone over 60 qualifies, but a short form must be signed first.
Details in the Oct. 3 Petersburg Press Print & Electronic Editions.
