School Board continues facilities planning

Boone Central School Board continued to explore facilities options at a discussion meeting Monday night, Nov. 5, in Albion.
This was the board’s first extensive facilities planning meeting since a proposed $20.8 million school bond issue failed to pass last May.
Short term options discussed were a possible new kitchen and renovation of the track/athletic field complex in Albion.
Some preliminary plans were also reviewed for new construction and renovation at the existing Albion site that could bring all grade levels together on one campus.
The board made no decisions at this meeting, but Superintendent Cory Worrell was directed to get cost estimates for various options. The board’s next regular meeting will be Monday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Petersburg.
