Council turns down future street plan

A plan to reserve future city street locations in areas just outside the Albion city limits was turned down by the city council during its regular meeting last Tuesday night, Nov. 13.
The plan had been forwarded to the council by the Albion Planning Commission.
It included a resolution to amend the city comprehensive plan to allow for future street locations. It also included a proposed ordinance to amend the city zoning regulations and zoning map.
The planning commission also forwarded a map of proposed street reservations in the area south of Fairview Street.
A number of property owners who live in the area south of Fairview Street spoke in opposition to the plan.
Details in the Nov. 21 Albion News Print & Electronic Editions.
