School Board approves change orders for track/field project

Two change orders for Phase 1 work on the Boone Central football field and track were approved by the School Board Monday night, Aug. 12.
The first change order involved changes to the stadium/press box system to allow for restroom, concession and storage structures under the bleachers. Cross bracing was removed from the bleacher plans to be replaced by I-beam frame supports, allowing space for these facilities under the seating area. Additional cost of this change order was $5,772.
The second change order included changes in earthwork, piping and concrete, fencing, relocation of jump runways.sidewalks, water and sanitary sewer locations to accommodate the Phase 2 construction changes approved by the board on July 31. Additional cost of this change order was $10,387.
The board also received various reports on the start of the school year this week.
