After another Friday of intense racing action, the stage is set for the culmination of the 2013 season at the Albion Speedway.
Drivers have positioned themselves in the season point races and will decide class titles this Friday during Championship Night competition.
One class saw a leader change August 16, as Jim Johnson used a strong runner-up performance in the Limited Late Model A Feature to overtake Robert Osborne, who ran fifth Friday night.
The point battle in the Stock Car division is also close. Doug Adamy placed seventh in the feature race Friday and saw his season edge trimmed to five points over Chad Bruns. Randy Pelster won the A Feature and slipped past Ron Pettit into third.
Other feature winners August 16 were Ramsey Meyer (Sport Compact), Tiffany Bittner (Hobby Stock), Kyle Prauner (Sport Mod) and Shane Thome (Modified).
Championship Night at the Albion Speedway will begin at 8 p.m. August 23. The card will also feature GOTRA (Good Ol’ Time Racing Ass.) racing.
Although Friday is the last night of points racing, the Albion fairgrounds oval will host a final program August 30, featuring the Boone County Challenge and Holt County Sprints (7:30 p.m.).
