Gottier Mid-State All-Conference in volleyball

Three Boone Central/Newman Grove Cardinals have been honored by the Mid-State Conference for their efforts during the 2013 volleyball season.
Senior Jade Gottier was one of 13 players selected for the 2013 Mid-State All-Conference volleyball team by league coaches. Senior Marissa Beierman and junior Dana Pelster were among 22 competitors receiving Mid-State Honorable Mention.
Gottier had another splendid all-around campaign for the Cardinals this past fall. Gottier had an 82% attack percentage on 621-of-753 hit attempts, with 280 kills, a 37% kill percentage and an overall .197 efficiency mark – all team-leading figures. She also was the top Cardinal in serve receptions with a percentage of 94% on 497-of-527 attempts and a passing rating of 2.35. Gottier led the team in digs with 308, was second in solo blocks (40) and was one of the team’s leading servers, with a team-high 35 aces on 239-of-278 serves (86%).
Pelster topped Boone Central/Newman Grove in blocks with 49. She was second to Gottier in attacking, scoring 142 kills on 365-of-455 hit attempts (80% attacks, 31% kills, .114 efficiency). Pelster was also one of the top servers with 182-of-211 (86%) and 24 aces – third on the team.
Beierman was another Cardinal who excelled at the net, finishing third in blocks with 29. She had an attack percentage of 79% on 302-of-380 hit attempts and 98 kills (26%). She served 93% (181-of-195) with 12 aces.
Gottier was joined on the All-Conference team by Maria Wortmann and Allison Arens of Crofton; Gabby Knobbe, Jenny Knobbe, Katie Steuter and Jamie Petz of Guardian Angels C.C.; Wayne’s Ashton Schweers and Megan Backer; Karly Noecker and Bailey Steffen of Hartington C.C.; Norfolk Catholic’s Bailey Ehlers and Jaci Brahmer of Pierce.
