Nine longtime teachers to leave Boone Central Schools

Nine current teachers, representing 275 total years of service, will be leaving Boone Central Public Schools at the end of the 2013-14 school year.
Early retirement packages for eight of the retiring teachers were accepted by the Boone Central School Board Monday night, Jan. 13
Approved for early retirement were Dawn Bussey, high school vocal music, 30 years; Jeff Bussey, elementary P.E., 35 years; Cheryl Sherburne, fifth grade, 37 years; Peggy Johnson, elementary library/media, 25 years; Deb Figgner, fourth grade, 35 years; Anne Hayes, fourth grade, 37 years; Carol Eischeid, high school science, 27 years, and Cheri Blocher, high school English, 31 years.
The board also accepted the resignation of Kathy Seier, who has served as Title I reading teacher for the past 18 years.
