Local hit-and-run accidents increase

Parked vehicles were damaged in three hit-and-run incidents within the City of Albion during February, according to an Albion Police Department monthly report.
The hit-and-run incidents were reported Feb. 6 at the Albion United Methodist Church parking lot (minor damage to the rear bumper of a 2006 Ford); Feb. 19 at the Runza parking lot (minor damage to the driver’s side front fender of a 2011 Jeep), and Feb. 23 near Second and Marengo Streets (moderate damage to the rear of a parked 1999 Chevrolet).
Albion Police Department reminds drivers that it is a violation of state law to fail to leave contact information and report property damage accidents to law enforcement.
