City Council gives nod to subdivision plans

Plans for construction of water and sewer mains, and the first phase of paving for a new subdivision just south of the city limits, were approved by the Albion City Council during its regular meeting Tuesday night, July 8.
The approval clears the way for development of the 19.5 acre, 20-lot Anderson Subdivision, located south of South Street and west of Sixth Street. The platted site map shows that Eighth Street would be extended south, with intersections connecting to three cul-de-sacs running west of Eighth Street
The plan submitted by owner Jerry Niewohner includes installation of water and sewer mains throughout the addition. Street paving, curb and gutter would be done in three phases. The first phase of paving would include Eighth Street to just beyond the first cul-de-sac intersection, as well as the cul-de-sac street itself.
