County’s real estate valuation to pass $2 billion mark

Although the rate of increase is down substantially this year from last year, Boone County’s overall real estate valuation will be up substantially for 2015, based on preliminary totals from the county assessor’s office.
The total 2015 preliminary valuation for all Boone County property stood at $2,162,135,030 as of May 29, according to County Assessor Barb Hanson.
That total could change before the preliminary totals are certified and become official in August.
The current preliminary total represents an increase of $208,236,061, or 10.65 percent, over last year’s preliminary total of $1,953,898,969.
