St. Michael’s student wins County Spelling Contest

TOP SPELLERS -- The eight students earning top places in the oral rounds of the Boone County Spelling Contest were (front, l.-r.) Claire earned the title by correctly spelling “pretzel” and “lunatic” in the oral round finals. She will represent Boone County in the Midwest Spelling Bee in March in Omaha.
Runner-up in the county contest was Blake Sherwood, a student at Riverside Public School.
