Big storm required big clean-up

Single lane cuts like this one were common on Highway 91.Cleanup work from the Feb. 2 blizzard was mostly complete by Friday evening, Feb. 5, but crews in Albion were still widening streets in the residential areas over the past weekend.
County road crews worked through Friday to open most county roads and encountered some big drifts along the way.
State highways were open throughout Boone County by Wednesday afternoon, although there were some one-lane cuts that had to be widened.
In Albion, Winter Storm Kayla brought an estimated 20 inches of snowfall, according to local weather observer Steve Wright.
