St. John’s Festival is Sunday

It’s takes a village to raise a child.
But, it takes an entire parish to put on an annual festival like the St. John’s Church’s celebration this Sunday, Sept. 11. Many parishioners donate their time and talents to raise money for the church.
Mass begins the day at 10 a.m., followed by a lunch of pork loin and sausage, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, garden vegetables and dessert. The lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and it is a free will offering.
Immediately following the lunch, a mini auction will be held at 2 p.m. Some of the auction items available are Husker, wind spinners, powerwasher, quilts, Budweiser© refrigerator and much more.
The St. John’s Fall Festival originally was held on Labor Day weekend and included a tractor pull, carnival for kids, bingo, cake walk, etc. It was moved to the weekend following so families could get together on Labor Day or have other family-related activities.
