Boone Central Band prepares for Harvest of Harmony

Boone Central High School Marching Band is gearing up for competition in the 75th annual Harvest of Harmony Parade and Field Marching competition to be held this Saturday, Oct. 1, at Grand Island.
The Harvest of Harmony Parade is sponsored by the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber’s Miss Harvest of Harmony Pageant and dessert reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, at College Park. Each participating school is invited to select a contestant for this pageant.
Miss Boone Central in the competition this year is Hannah Groth.
Hannah, a senior at Boone Central, is active in Future Farmers of America; Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, and Boone Central’s cheerleading team and golf team. She enjoys band, working with livestock, 4-H and her church’s youth group and mission trips.
Hannah plans to major in an agricultural field. She is currently deciding between agricultural business and animal science.
All the pageant winners will be introduced at the pageant between 7 and 8 p.m. on Friday.
The Harvest of Harmony Parade will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, in downtown Grand Island. Each pageant contestant will be transported through the parade route in a convertible immediately preceding her school’s marching band.
