Friends and neighbors of Gene Karmann helped out with soybean harvest at his farm southwest of Albion last Thursday, Oct. 20.
Gene suffered a serious heart attack in August and is now recuperating. His physical activity is very limited, although he did operate his combine during the harvest day.
Helping with the harvest were Kent Beierman, Tim Beierman, Bill Schriver, Ken Schriver and Dean Hamling.
They used five combines, five trucks and other equipment to harvest about 200 acres of soybeans in 2 1/2 hours.
Kent Beierman said the group plans to return to the Karmann farm later this fall to harvest his corn.
