West Petersburg water line gains approval

The Petersburg Village Board disucssed the west Petersburg water line at its meeting last Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016.
The water line will proceed at a cost $26,000 which is a little cheaper than the original estimated cost of $28,874. The installation is scheduled for some time this year.
The micro-surfacing of Main Street probably will be put on hold for 2016. The Monarch Oil Company and board have concerns regarding the weather.
Village Utilities Superintendent Petsche provided information regarding a company which the board had originally contacted for the project. In 2017, they expect to be in Albion, which would make them closer to Petersburg and lessen moving costs.
Thorberg said, “I think we need to wait. We want to get it done right.”
Trustee Corey Stokes felt the board now has an option.
