Adjustment Board to hear building permit challenge

An appeal has been filed with the Albion Board of Adjustment to challenge the granting of a building permit to A & H Building Supply, Inc. on behalf of Half Moon Investments, Inc., for construction of the new Jarecki Yosten law offices. This appeal will be heard Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in city hall.
In a related matter, on April 6, the Albion City Council held a special meeting and voted to hire the firm of Houghton Bradford Whitted, PC, of Omaha to represent the city in a civil lawsuit, District Court Case #CI 17-23.
The firm lists construction law, real estate law and alternate dispute resolution among its practice areas.
The civil lawsuit seeks to enjoin the city from enforcing recent amendments to its comprehensive plan and zoning map.
