Boone Central/Newman Grove’s varsity and junior varsity boys golf teams competed in tournaments Thursday, April 27.
The BC/NG varsity golfers traveled to Columbus for the Lakeview Invitational, placing 7th in the 11-team field.
Host Lakeview won the event at Quail Run Golf Course with a team total of 326, followed by Scotus (339) and Norfolk Catholic (349). Boone Central/Newman Grove recorded a team score of 389.
Nathan Gottier paced the Cardinals with an 18-hole round of 90 – 17th among 58 individual players. Garrett Cornwell finished 24th with a 95.
The Cardinal JV competed in the St. Francis Invite, held at Humphrey’s Steepleview Golf Course.
St. Francis took the team title with a 328 total. Howells-Dodge (363) was second, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (367) third. Boone Central/Newman Grove finished 10th with a 495 team score.
St. Francis had the top three medalists in the tournament – Trevor Kosch (69), Riley Huettner (72) and Gabriel Pfeifer (82). Brody Voichoski and Matthew Schmitz led BC/NG with rounds of 114.
