Victor L. Bauer

Victor L. Bauer, 92, of Spalding, passed away Monday, June, 19, 2017 at Bryan Medical Center-West Campus in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Leila of Spalding; six children: Jeannie (Gene) Hitchler of Spalding; Kathleen (Bruce) Otte of Winter Park, FL; Dennis (Linda) Bauer of Spalding; Trish (Michael) Jarboe of Allen, TX; Janet (Jeff) Gierhan of Lincoln; Edward (Stacey) Bauer of Spalding; 19 grandchildren: Kim (Kevin) Hetrick, Kristina (Jacob) Ladwig, Mark Otte, Cassie (Joseph) Bianco, Nicki (Richard ) Woznick, Sara, Emily, Byron, and Jared Bauer, Madison and Jackson Jarboe, Jory, Nycholas, Taylor, and Lilly Gierhan, Jacob, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Rachel Bauer; seven great-grandchildren: Brayden Booth, Riley, Kirsten, Avery and Kate Ladwig, Alliyah and Payton Hetrick and baby girl Woznick on the way; sister Sister Collette Bauer OP of St. Catharine, KY; sister-in-laws Josephine Bauer of Grand Island and Eileen Bauer of Spalding; brother-in-law Don (Kathy) French of Boise, ID; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Vince, Laurence, Bob, Andy, Fr. Jake, and Rich; sisters: Margaret Connelly, Rose Marie Bernt, and infant Patricia.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding with Fr. Antony Thekkekara and Fr. James Murphy officiating. Burial followed in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Spalding, with military rites conducted by the James Kessler American Legion Post 299 of Spalding.
