Tanner Schutt is new middle school principal

Tanner Schutt, a Northeast Nebraska native, has taken the reins as Boone Central Middle School Principal and Curriculum Director for the 2017-18 school year. He began his duties Aug. 1.

Tanner grew up at Orchard and graduated from Orchard High School in 2006. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2011, with endorsements in middle school language arts and social sciences.

He taught for six years at Elkhorn Ridge Middle School, Omaha. He also coached junior varsity baseball at Elkhorn South, and coached junior high basketball and track at Elkhorn Ridge.

While teaching at Elkhorn Ridge, he earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University in 2014.

Tanner and his wife, Sara, were married in May of 2016. She is a Registered Nurse at the Boone County Health Center.

The Schutts are currently living at Orchard, but they plan to move to Albion by mid-August.
