A little extra promotion this year yielded big dividends as the Rae Valley Heritage Association had an outstanding turnout for its 35th anniversary show.

More than 250 antique tractors were on the grounds at Charlie’s Park on Saturday, Aug. 26, and the crowd size was estimated at 700 to 800 on both Saturday and Sunday for the Nebraska State Antique Tractor & Horse Plowing Bee.

This year’s show featured Hart-Parr and Oliver tractors, and there were 58 Oliver tractors on display through the weekend. The turnout of horse teams was also extra large, with 10 teams of horses plowing on Sunday. Six teams of horses and one team of mules were plowing at the same time.

There were 78 participants in the Parade of Power on Saturday, and 120 participants in the parade on Sunday. At least eight states were represented by exhibitors and spectators.
