Featuring a cast of more than 30 local actors, the opening night production of “Hee Flaw 2.0” was staged Monday night, Nov. 27, in the Boone Central performance gym.
This special production, featuring music and comedy, was presented only two nights, Nov. 27-28, as a Boone County Big Give event to raise funds for the performance gym improvements. Audiences said the production was very entertaining.
Based on the long-running “Hee Haw” TV variety show (1969-1997) the “Hee Flaw” version mixed in local humor and musical talent.
The production features our very own Roy Clark (Jeff VanDeWalle) and Buck Owens (Dallas Choat), as well as solo and group performances by Patty Morgan; Justin, Jenni, Anthony and Cooper DeWitt; Jill, Marcus and Katie Johnson; Boone Central’s Breakfast Club (barbershop quartet); Boone County Sheriff Denny Johnson, Dorothy & Max Grosch, Jen and Lily Thieman, Judy Pribnow, Tammy Seier, Jim Jarosz, pianist Pat Boilesen and more. The show is directed by Mary Thieman, Whitney Paulson and Michele Wright.
The performances were free. A Big Give donation station was set up within the gym for those wanting to contribute to the Performing Arts Remodel project, or to any of the other 24 Big Give projects.
