Big Give had record number of gifts; total over $143,000

web-11-23-big-give-logoWith final tallies still pending, the fourth annual Boone County Big Give listed a total of $143,724 early this week.
The number of gifts set a new record, topping 1,200 for the first time and reaching a grand total of 1,238 gifts. That represents an increase of nearly 200 gifts from last year’s tally of 1,042.
The number of gifts has increased each year since the annual Big Give began in 2014.
While the total is lower this year than last year’s record $186,349, the 2017 Big Give was considered very successful due to the dramatic increase in the number of donors, which included many new donors.
In addition to the individual gifts given Nov. 27 through Dec. 2, sponsor dollars are awarded to each participating organization or project, based on the number of individual gifts received.
Through the past four years, the Boone County Big Give has raised more than $642,000 for participating organizations.
Individual organization totals as of Dec. 11 are listed in the Dec. 13 Albion News Print and E-editions.
