Sullivan leads News area All-State court selections

Jessie Sullivan of Boone Central/Newman Grove and Riverside’s Tredyn Prososki and Joseph Bloom were selected to 2018 Nebraska All-State basketball 1st teams in the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal-Star.
Jessie Sullivan, a 6’4 senior who averaged 17.2 points per game for Boone Central/Newman Grove’s 19-7 state tournament team, was a 1st team Class C1 All-State selection in both the World-Herald and Journal-Star.
Tredyn Prososki (5’10, So.) was selected to the World-Herald and Journal-Star Class D1 1st teams after scoring 19.3 points per game for state tournament runner-up Riverside (25-3). Joseph Bloom, a 6’6 Jr. who averaged 16.5 points per contest, was selected to the Journal-Star 1st team and was a 2nd team selection by the World-Herald.
A number of Albion News area standouts also received all-state mention.
Taya Beller, a 6’1 junior who averaged 12.3 points per game for state tournament qualifier Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family was a 2nd team All-State selection by the World-Herald and Journal-Star.
Receiving all-state honorable mention in girls basketball were: Class C1 – Lauren Hedlund (BC/NG). Class D1 – Brittney Veik, Allie Schneider, Allanah Beller, Danie Brandl (H/LHF). Class D2 – McKenna Anderson, Morgan Haschke, Maddie Walkowiak, Becky Schmeits, Lauren Rankin (Riverside); Kelly Kleffner, Elizabeth Bauer (Sp. Academy); Shonda Shanle (St. Edward).
Receiving all-state honorable mention in boys basketball were: Class C1 – Dylan Gentrup, Cody Nelson, Carter Henry (BC/NG). Class D1 – Bret Hanis, Ashton Dohmen (H/LHF). Class D2 – Ty Martinsen, Riley Swerczek (Riverside); Mathew Bloom (Sp. Academy); Trevor Rasmussen (St. Edward).
