Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is named among the 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare. BCHC is one of just two Nebraska hospitals on the Becker’s Healthcare list and is the only Critical Access Hospital in the nation to receive such an honor.
“Our staff is top notch, and we do our best to treat them with the respect and appreciation they deserve,” said President and CEO Tanya Sharp. “It’s a tremendous honor for the health center to be recognized as one of the best places in the nation to work in healthcare.”
Organizations on Becker’s list go above and beyond the norm to care for their staff. At BCHC, this is evident in the low turnover rate, which is half the national average for the healthcare industry.
“We try to take care of our staff,” said Sharp. “We promote from within when possible and encourage professional development. We have great people, and we support them so they can be their best.”
Staff is given extra time off for schooling without fear of losing their jobs. They can also participate in special mentoring programs that help further their career goals.
