Benefit triathlon set in Albion Aug. 25

A special benefit triathlon will be held in Albion on Saturday, Aug. 25, starting at 8 a.m.
The triathlon, which includes swimming, bicycling and running, will assist both the Boone County Fitness Center and Black Hills Cares, which provides financial assistance to county residents in need.
Additional sponsors are Valero Renewables and Cornerstone Bank.
The children’s division (up to age 15) will include a one-lap swim, a one-block bike ride and a one-block run.
Divisions for individuals and three-person teams will include any age. Competitors in these divisions will swim 500 meters, bike 10 miles and run three miles.
The route for the bike ride will run five miles south on Highway 39, returning back to the fitness center.
The triathlon is open to anyone who wants to participate. Pre-registration is required by Aug. 15 at the Boone County Fitness Center, 402-395-2244. There is a charge for pre-registration, and a commemorative T-shirt is included
