Clyde and Connie Stuhr are combining several skills they’ve developed over time in their new Petersburg business, Patriot’s Landing, LLC.
In the business, Clyde uses his design skills, a plasma cutter and knowledge of metals to create metal-based art and signage.
Connie uses her business and marketing background to assist in the business.
They currently operate the business on a part-time basis (evenings and weekends). Clyde continues his full time job as safety and quality coordinator at Sentinel Building Systems near Albion.
Their business building, located at 305 South Lincoln Ave. in Petersburg, was started in 2017. They have now completed the main floor of the 44 x 66-foot building, which includes the front one-third as display area and office, and the remainder as shop space.
Clyde still plans to finish an apartment upstairs in the building, and they also plan to install a small laundromat featuring an industrial sized washer and dryer.
The business name comes from Clyde’s military connection. He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel and serving as a weapons systems officer for F15E fighter aircraft.
