Fire & Iron receives appreciation gift

Fire & Iron MC Station 102, Newman Grove, received a special gift from the Thompson family during their seventh annual Ride It or Drive It Poker Run last Saturday, Aug. 24. They received a patriotic
framed display from the family. Nicole was recently deployed with the Army and her son, Gavin, was one of the recipients of proceeds from last year’s benefit poker run. Shown above with the gift are (front, l.-r.) Tom Bagley, April Adams, Jarod Adams, Gavin and Nicole Thompson, Eric Stone and Nick Dohmen; (back) Ryan Schulz and Mitch Johnson. This year’s poker run recipient was the Donna “Bunny” Riedel family, and a portion of the proceeds will be used for community improvement projects in Newman Grove. These improvements include helping to move the old school playground equipment to the football field, flood repairs at the football field, swimming pool projects and others. The poker run traveled to Neligh, Royal, Albion and back to the South Side Lounge in Newman Grove. After the run, food was provided and a benefit auction was held with donated services by Big Iron Auctions.
