Two athletes from Albion – Mary Wells and Josh Majerus – excelled for Chadron State College teams last weekend and will compete at national events March 14-15.
Wells, a senior, won the shot put at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet in Kearney with a throw of 45-7½. She also placed fourth in the weight throw at 48-8¼.
Wells will compete in the shot put at the NCAA Division II National Indoor Meet at Mankato (MN) next weekend.
Majerus continued his outstanding junior wrestling season by capturing the 197-pound championship in the West Regional Tournament at Las Vegas (NV) last Saturday, qualifying for the Division II National Tournament in Cedar Rapids (IA).Complete details in the Print Edition of the Albion News.
