Chamber plans coming activities

Albion Chamber of Commerce discussed plans for upcoming events and activities during a general promotional meeting last Thursday, March 13, at Fairview Lanes.

The Chamber is proceeding with small garden bridges, 5 1/2 feet long and 3 feet wide, to be decorated and displayed in the business district for the Cattlemen’s Ball in June.

Abby Johnson, Chamber secretary, said sponsorships for at least eight bridges are confirmed so far. Letters about sponsoring bridges are to be sent to businesses later this week.

The Chamber is hoping to have all bridge sponsorships confirmed by the end of March. They will be built by local volunteers.

This year’s Million Dollar Shoot Out Golf Challenge will be held Wednesday night through Saturday, June 11-14, with the finals on Saturday.

Chamber members were reminded that the Nebraska Rod and Custom association will be holding a tour in late May. An estimated 300 classic and custom vehicles will be in Albion on Friday night and Saturday morning, May 30-31. The Chamber will be providing coffee and rolls for the group on Saturday morning, and a portion of downtown will be blocked off for the car display.

The Chamber also discussed a possible group health insurance plan that could be offered through local providers. More information on this plan will be provided through the Chamber office.
