Albion’s downtown area will be decorated with garden bridges like the one above in the weeks preceding the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball, June 6-7, 2008. The project will use the Cattlemen’s Ball theme, “Bridge of Hope.” Participating businesses are financing the construction of 12 bridges, which will be placed mostly in the downtown area. Chamber President Scott Stuhlmiller said the bridges should be built by about May 1, and they should be decorated by the third week of May. Albion business patrons will be asked to vote for their two favorite bridges, which will be auctioned at the Cattlemen’s Ball to help with fund-raising efforts for cancer research. With less than two months remaining before the Cattlemen’s Ball, various committees and volunteers are working hard behind the scenes.
