Locals Enjoy BCR Success

Albion’s Mike Beierman (90M) battles Nick Wehrle (12W) of MadisonBetter weather, more cars and plenty of racing excitement. That was the story Friday for the second night of the 2008 season at the Boone County Raceway in Albion.
The early-season point leads changed in every class May 16, with local drivers making gains in several divisions.
Albion’s Shawn Rasmussen won the Hobby Stock ‘A’ Feature and Late Model racer Mike Kelley of Albion won the ‘A’ event in that class. They were joined in the feature event winner’s circle by Jason Gaver of Columbus (Modified) and Shawn Primrose of Norfolk (Street Stock).
Mark Hooker of Albion retained a share of the Street Stock points lead, but now shares the top position with Justin Addison of Norfolk. Chris Tenski of St. Edward vaulted atop the Hobby Stock standings, one point ahead of Cedar Rapids’ Bryan Molt. Gaver took over the Modified lead and defending champ Mark Lueken jumped to the top spot in the Late Model standings.
