Cardinals in All-Star Cage Games

Brent Dawson, Kraig Flanagan, Anthony Michael and Jordan Temme will be members of the Red Team in the Columbus Telegram/Central Community College All-Star Game Friday, June 6, at the CCC Raider Fieldhouse (8 pm). Perone will be Head Coach of the Red Team.
Flanagan and Michael were also selected to play in the 25th Annual Norfolk Daily News/Northeast Community College All-Star Classic at NECC Friday, June 13 (8 pm). The Cardinal duo will be on the Light team, also coached by Perone.
Dawson, Flanagan, Michael and Temme were members of Perone’s Boone Central squad that finished 18-4 in 2007-08, losing to eventual Class C1 state champion Hastings St. Cecelia in the C1-4 District championship game.
Other Albion News area players participating in the Columbus contest will include Ryan Nathan and Sean Farrier of Newman Grove, Lucas Weeder of Holy Family and St. Edward’s James Spath.
Girls’ all-star games will precede the boys at both events, beginning at 6 p.m. News area athletes in the Columbus game are Nellie Kurtenbach and Jennifer Wegener of Holy Family, St. Edward’s Heather Stephens and Sheana Wallin of Newman Grove.
Along with Boone Central’s Perone, two area coaches will be involved in the girls game of the Columbus all-star event. Holy Family Coach Travis Friesen will be the Head Coach of the Red team and Newman Grove Coach Tim Rossow will be the Blue assistant.
