With three drivers winning their first Boone County Raceway A Features of 2008 – and no point leaders taking feature race checkers – there was minimal shake-up in the season standings Friday, June 27.
Lukas Borer of Petersburg (Hobby Stocks), Jason Wilkinson of Neligh (Street Stock) and Norfolk’s Robert Osborne (Late Model) all garnered their initial feature wins of the season Friday. Osceola’s Dylan Smith was the only one to break the mold, racing to his third 2008 ‘A’ victory.
With Jon Schalk of Cedar Rapids finishing 10th in the Hobby Stock A Feature, Cedar’s Bryan Molt again took over sole possession of the season lead in that division by placing fourth.
Point leaders in the other three BCR classes remained unchanged, though there was some movement at the top end of the standings. Nic Kimmel of Norfolk advanced from third to second in the Hobby division, Osborne forged a second-place tie in Late Models with his feature win, Tyler Iverson of Albion climbed to third in the Modified point race with a feature runner-up performance and Albion’s Mark Hooker slipped from second to fourth in Street Stock standings as Shawn Primrose and Justin Addison of Norfolk each moved up a position.
