With some new drivers and cars in attendance – and several regular drivers in different cars – the local summer racing season concluded Sunday, Aug. 24, with the Boone County Raceway Shoot-Out at the Albion fairgrounds facility.
On a gorgeous late-summer afternoon, drivers kicked up plenty of dust on a dry dirt track and provided exciting action in four classes of competition.
In A Feature races, BCR 2008 point champion Jason Gaver (B18) of Columbus won the Modified class over Palmer’s Chad Arntt (10), Dave Freudenburg (24X) of Norfolk topped Albion’s Mark Hooker in Street Stock action, Neligh’s Jason Wilkinson (27) finished ahead of 2008 BCR Hobby Stock champ Bryan Molt and Albion’s Mike Kelley(17) finished in front of the Late Model field with Robert Osborne (35) of Norfolk runner-up.
